여호수아 21

1때에 레위 사람의 족장들이 제사장 엘르아살과 눈의 아들 여호수아와 이스라엘 자손의 지파 족장들에게 나아와 2가나안 땅 실로에서 그들에게 말하여 가로되 여호와께서 모세로 명하사 우리의 거할 성읍들과 우리의 가축 먹일 그들을 우리에게 주라 하셨었나이다 하매 3이스라엘 자손이 여호와의 명을 따라 자기의 기업에서 이 아래 성읍들과 그들을 레위 사람에게 주니라 4그핫 가족을 위하여 제비를 뽑았는데 레위 사람 중 제사장 아론의 자손들은 유다 지파와 시므온 지파와 베냐민 지파 중에서 제비대로 십삼 성읍을 얻었고 5그 남은 그핫 자손들은 에브라임 지파의 가족과 단 지파와 므낫세 반 지파 중에서 제비대로 열 성읍을 얻었으며 6게르손 자손들은 잇사갈 지파의 가족들과 아셀 지파와 납달리 지파와 바산에 있는 므낫세 반 지파 중에서 제비대로 십삼 성읍을 얻었더라 7므라리 자손들은 그 가족대로 르우벤 지파와 갓 지파와 스불론 지파 중에서 십이 성읍을 얻었더라 8여호와께서 모세로 명하신 대로 이스라엘 자손이 제비 뽑아 레위 사람에게 준 성읍들과 그들이 이러하니라 9유다 자손의 지파와 시므온 자손의 지파 중에서는 이 아래 기명한 성읍들을 주었는데 10레위 자손 중 그핫 가족들에 속한 아론 자손이 첫째로 제비 뽑혔으므로 11아낙의 아비 아르바의 성읍 유다 산지 기럇 아르바 곧 헤브론과 그 사면 들을 그들에게 주었고 12오직 그 성읍의 밭과 촌락은 여분네의 아들 갈렙에게 주어 소유가 되게 하였더라 13제사장 아론 자손에게 준 것은 살인자의 도피성 헤브론과 그 들이요 또 립나와 그 들과 14얏딜과 그 들과 에스드모아와 그 들과 15홀론과 그 들과 드빌과 그 들과 16아인과 그 들과 윳다와 그 들과 벧 세메스와 그 들이니 이 두 지파에서 아홉 성읍을 내었고 17또 베냐민 지파 중에서는 기브온과 그 들과 게바와 그 들과 18아나돗과 그 들과 알몬과 그 들 곧 네 성읍을 내었으니 19제사장 아론 자손의 성읍이 모두 십삼 성읍과 그 들이었더라 20그 남은 레위 사람 그핫 자손의 가족 곧 그핫 자손에게는 제비 뽑아 에브라임 지파 중에서 그 성읍들을 주었으니 21곧 살인자의 도피성 에브라임 산지 세겜과 그 들이요 또 게셀과 그 들과 22깁사임과 그 들과 벧 호론과 그 들이니 네 성읍이요 23또 단 지파 중에서 준 것은 엘드게와 그 들과 깁브돈과 그 들과 24아얄론과 그 들과 가드 림몬과 그 들이니 네 성읍이요 25또 므낫세 반 지파 중에서 준 것은 다아낙과 그 들과 가드림몬과 그 들이니 두 성읍이라 26그핫 자손의 남은 가족의 성읍이 모두 열과 그 들이었더라 27레위 가족의 게르손 자손들에게는 므낫세 반 지파 중에서 살인자의 도피성 바산 골란과 그 들을 주었고 또 브에스드라와 그 들을 주었으니 두 성읍이요 28잇사갈 지파 중에서는 기시온과 그 들과 다브랏과 그 들과 29야르뭇과 그 들과 언 간님과 그 들을 주었으니 네 성읍이요 30아셀 지파 중에서는 미살과 그 들과 압돈과 그 들과 31헬갓과 그 들과 르홉과 그 들을 주었으니 네 성읍이요 32납달리 지파 중에서는 살인자의 도피성 갈릴리 게데스와 그 들을 주었고 또 함못 돌과 그 들과 가르단과 그 들을 주었으니 세 성읍이라 33게르손 사람이 그 가족대로 얻은 성읍이 모두 열 세 성읍과 그 들이었더라 34그 남은 레위 사람 므라리 자손의 가족들에게 준 것은 스불론 지파 중에서 욕느암과 그 들과 가르다와 그 들과 35딤나와 그 들과 나할랄과 그 들이니 네 성읍이요 36르우벤 지파 중에서 준 것은 베셀과 그 들과 야하스와 그 들과 37그데못과 그 들과 므바앗과 그 들이니 네 성읍이요 38갓 지파 중에서 준 것은 살인자의 도피성 길르앗 라못과 그 들이요 또 마하나임과 그 들과 39헤스본과 그 들과 야셀과 그 들이니 모두 네 성읍이라 40이는 레위 가족의 남은 자 곧 므라리 자손이 그 가족대로 얻은 성읍이니 그 제비 뽑아 얻은 성읍이 십이 성읍이었더라 41레위 사람의 이스라엘 자손의 기업 중에서 얻은 성읍이 모두 사십팔 성읍이요 또 그 들이라 42이 각 성읍의 사면에 들이 있었고 모든 성읍이 다 그러하였더라 43여호와께서 이스라엘의 열조에게 맹세하사 주마 하신 온 땅을 이와 같이 이스라엘에게 다 주셨으므로 그들이 그것을 얻어 거기 거하였으며 44여호와께서 그들의 사방에 안식을 주셨으되 그 열조에게 맹세하신 대로 하셨으므로 그 모든 대적이 그들을 당한 자가 하나도 없었으니 이는 여호와께서 그들의 모든 대적을 그들의 손에 붙이셨음이라 45여호와께서 이스라엘 족속에게 말씀하신 선한 일이 하나도 남음이 없이 다 응하였더라

1Then the heads of fathers’ houses of the Levites came near to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of fathers’ houses of the tribes of the children of Israel. 2They spoke to them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, “Yahweh commanded Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for our livestock.” 3The children of Israel gave to the Levites out of their inheritance, according to the commandment of Yahweh, these cities with their suburbs. 4The lot came out for the families of the Kohathites. The children of Aaron the priest, who were of the Levites, had thirteen cities by lot out of the tribe of Judah, out of the tribe of the Simeonites, and out of the tribe of Benjamin. 5The rest of the children of Kohath had ten cities by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh. 6The children of Gershon had thirteen cities by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, out of the tribe of Asher, out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan. 7The children of Merari according to their families had twelve cities out of the tribe of Reuben, out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun. 8The children of Israel gave these cities with their suburbs by lot to the Levites, as Yahweh commanded by Moses. 9They gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are mentioned by name: 10and they were for the children of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi; for theirs was the first lot. 11They gave them Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak (the same is Hebron), in the hill country of Judah, with its suburbs around it. 12But they gave the fields of the city and its villages to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession. 13To the children of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the man slayer, Libnah with its suburbs, 14Jattir with its suburbs, Eshtemoa with its suburbs, 15Holon with its suburbs, Debir with its suburbs, 16Ain with its suburbs, Juttah with its suburbs, and Beth Shemesh with its suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes. 17Out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with its suburbs, Geba with its suburbs, 18Anathoth with its suburbs, and Almon with its suburbs; four cities. 19All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs. 20The families of the children of Kohath, the Levites, even the rest of the children of Kohath, had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim. 21They gave them Shechem with its suburbs in the hill country of Ephraim, the city of refuge for the man slayer, and Gezer with its suburbs, 22Kibzaim with its suburbs, and Beth Horon with its suburbs; four cities. 23Out of the tribe of Dan, Elteke with its suburbs, Gibbethon with its suburbs, 24Aijalon with its suburbs, Gath Rimmon with its suburbs; four cities. 25Out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Taanach with its suburbs, and Gath Rimmon with its suburbs; two cities. 26All the cities of the families of the rest of the children of Kohath were ten with their suburbs. 27They gave to the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the half-tribe of Manasseh Golan in Bashan with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the man slayer, and Be Eshterah with its suburbs; two cities. 28Out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishion with its suburbs, Daberath with its suburbs, 29Jarmuth with its suburbs, En Gannim with its suburbs; four cities. 30Out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with its suburbs, Abdon with its suburbs, 31Helkath with its suburbs, and Rehob with its suburbs; four cities. 32Out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the man slayer, Hammothdor with its suburbs, and Kartan with its suburbs; three cities. 33All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs. 34To the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with its suburbs, Kartah with its suburbs, 35Dimnah with its suburbs, and Nahalal with its suburbs; four cities. 36Out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with its suburbs, Jahaz with its suburbs, 37Kedemoth with its suburbs, and Mephaath with its suburbs; four cities. 38Out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the man slayer, and Mahanaim with its suburbs, 39Heshbon with its suburbs, Jazer with its suburbs; four cities in all. 40All these were the cities of the children of Merari according to their families, even the rest of the families of the Levites. Their lot was twelve cities. 41All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel were forty-eight cities with their suburbs. 42Each of these cities included their suburbs around them. It was this way with all these cities. 43So Yahweh gave to Israel all the land which he swore to give to their fathers. They possessed it, and lived in it. 44Yahweh gave them rest all around, according to all that he swore to their fathers. Not a man of all their enemies stood before them. Yahweh delivered all their enemies into their hand. 45Nothing failed of any good thing which Yahweh had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.

1Toen naderden de hoofden der vaderen van de Levieten tot Eleazar, den priester, en tot Jozua, den zoon van Nun, en tot de hoofden der vaderen van de stammen der kinderen Israels; 2En zij spraken tot hen, te Silo, in het land Kanaan, zeggende: De HEERE heeft geboden door den dienst van Mozes, dat men ons steden te bewonen geven zou, en haar voorsteden voor onze beesten. 3Daarom gaven de kinderen Israels aan de Levieten van hun erfdeel, naar den mond des HEEREN, deze steden en de voorsteden derzelve. 4Toen ging het lot uit voor de huisgezinnen der Kahathieten; en voor de kinderen van Aaron, den priester, uit de Levieten, waren van den stam van Juda, en van den stam van Simeon, en van den stam van Benjamin, door het lot, dertien steden. 5En aan de overgebleven kinderen van Kahath vielen, bij het lot, van de huisgezinnen van den stam van Efraim, en van den stam van Dan, en van den halven stam van Manasse, tien steden. 6En aan den kinderen van Gerson, van de huisgezinnen van den stam van Issaschar, en van den stam van Aser, en van den stam van Nafthali, en van den halven stam van Manasse, in Bazan, bij het lot, dertien steden. 7Aan de kinderen van Merari, naar hun huisgezinnen, van den stam van Ruben, en van den stam van Gad, en van den stam van Zebulon, twaalf steden. 8Alzo gaven de kinderen Israels aan de Levieten deze steden en haar voorsteden, bij het lot, gelijk de HEERE geboden had door den dienst van Mozes. 9Verder gaven zij van den stam der kinderen van Juda, en van den stam der kinderen van Simeon, deze steden, die men bij name noemde; 10Dat zij waren van de kinderen van Aaron, van de huisgezinnen der Kahathieten, uit de kinderen van Levi; want het eerste lot was het hunne. 11Zo gaven zij hun de stad van Arba, den vader van Anok (zij is Hebron), op den berg van Juda, en haar voorsteden rondom haar. 12Maar het veld der stad en haar dorpen, gaven zij aan Kaleb, den zoon van Jefunne, tot zijn bezitting. 13Alzo gaven zij aan de kinderen van den priester Aaron de vrijstad des doodslagers, Hebron en haar voorsteden, en Libna en haar voorsteden; 14En Jatthir en haar voorsteden, en Esthemoa en haar voorsteden; 15En Holon en haar voorsteden, en Debir en haar voorsteden; 16En Ain en haar voorsteden, en Jutta en haar voorsteden, en Beth-Semes en haar voorsteden; negen steden van deze twee stammen. 17En van den stam van Benjamin, Gibeon en haar voorsteden, Geba en haar voorsteden; 18Anathoth en haar voorsteden, en Almon en haar voorsteden: vier steden. 19Al de steden der kinderen van Aaron, de priesteren, waren dertien steden en haar voorsteden. 20De huisgezinnen nu der kinderen van Kahath, de Levieten, die overgebleven waren van de kinderen van Kahath, die hadden de steden huns lots van den stam van Efraim. 21En zij gaven hun Sichem, een vrijstad des doodslagers, en haar voorsteden, op den berg Efraim, en Gezer en haar voorsteden; 22En Kibzaim en haar voorsteden, en Beth-horon en haar voorsteden: vier steden. 23En van den stam van Dan, Elteke en haar voorsteden, Gibbethon en haar voorsteden; 24Ajalon en haar voorsteden, Gath-Rimmon en haar voorsteden: vier steden. 25En van den halven stam van Manasse, Thaanach en haar voorsteden, en Gath-Rimmon en haar voorsteden: twee steden. 26Al de steden voor de huisgezinnen van de overige kinderen van Kahath zijn tien, met haar voorsteden. 27En aan de kinderen van Gerson, van de huisgezinnen der Levieten, van den halven stam van Manasse, de vrijstad des doodslagers, Golan in Bazan, en haar voorsteden, en Beesthera en haar voorsteden: twee steden. 28En van den stam van Issaschar, Kisjon en haar voorsteden, en Dobrath en haar voorsteden; 29Jarmuth en haar voorsteden, En-gannim en haar voorsteden: vier steden. 30En van den stam van Aser, Misal en haar voorsteden, Abdon en haar voorsteden; 31En Helkath en haar voorsteden, en Rehob en haar voorsteden: vier steden. 32En van den stam van Nafthali, de vrijstad des doodslagers, Kedes in Galilea, en haar voorsteden, en Hammoth-Dor en haar voorsteden, en Karthan en haar voorsteden: drie steden. 33Al de steden der Gersonieten, naar hun huisgezinnen, zijn dertien steden en haar voorsteden. 34Aan de huisgezinnen nu van de kinderen van Merari, van de overige Levieten, werd gegeven van den stam van Zebulon, Jokneam en haar voorsteden, Kartha en haar voorsteden; 35Dimna en haar voorsteden, Nahalal en haar voorsteden: vier steden. 36En van den stam van Ruben, Bezer en haar voorsteden, en Jahza en haar voorsteden; 37Kedemoth en haar voorsteden, en Mefaath en haar voorsteden: vier steden. 38Van den stam van Gad nu, de vrijstad des doodslagers, Ramoth in Gilead, en haar voorsteden, en Mahanaim en haar voorsteden; 39Hesbon en haar voorsteden, Jaezer en haar voorsteden: al die steden zijn vier. 40Al die steden waren van de kinderen van Merari, naar hun huisgezinnen, die nog overig waren van de huisgezinnen der Levieten; en hun lot was twaalf steden. 41Al de steden der Levieten, in het midden van de erfenis der kinderen Israels, waren acht en veertig steden en haar voorsteden. 42Deze steden waren elk met haar voorsteden rondom haar; alzo was het met al die steden. 43Alzo gaf de HEERE aan Israel het ganse land, dat Hij gezworen had hun vaderen te geven, en zij beerfden het, en woonden daarin. 44En de HEERE gaf hun rust rondom, naar alles, wat Hij hun vaderen gezworen had; en er bestond niet een man van al hun vijanden voor hun aangezicht; al hun vijanden gaf de HEERE in hun hand. 45Er viel niet een woord van al de goede woorden, die de HEERE gesproken had tot het huis van Israel; het kwam altemaal.
