1E alzai di nuovo gli occhi, guardai, ed ecco quattro carri che uscivano di fra i due monti; e i monti eran monti di rame. 2Al primo carro c’erano dei cavalli rossi; al secondo carro, dei cavalli neri; 3al terzo carro, dei cavalli bianchi, e al quarto carro dei cavalli chiazzati di rosso. 4E io presi a dire all’angelo che parlava meco: "Che son questi, mio signore?" 5L’angelo rispose e mi disse: "Questi sono i quattro venti del cielo, che escono, dopo essersi presentati al Signore di tutta la terra. 6Il carro dei cavalli neri va verso il paese del settentrione; i cavalli bianchi lo seguono; i chiazzati vanno verso il paese di mezzogiorno, 7e i rossi escono e chiedono d’andare a percorrere la terra". E l’angelo disse loro: "Andate, percorrete la terra!" Ed essi percorsero la terra. 8Poi egli mi chiamò, e mi parlò così: "Ecco, quelli che escono verso il paese del settentrione acquetano la mia ira sul paese del settentrione". 9E la parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta in questi termini: 10Prendi da quelli della cattività, cioè da Heldai, da Tobia e da Jedaia e récati oggi stesso in casa di Giosia, figliuolo di Sofonia, dov’essi sono giunti da Babilonia, 11prendi dell’argento e dell’oro, fanne delle corone, e mettile sul capo di Giosuè, figliuolo di Jehotsadak, sommo sacerdote, 12e parlagli, e digli: "Così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti: Ecco un uomo, che ha nome il Germoglio; egli germoglierà nel suo luogo, ed edificherà il tempio dell’Eterno; 13egli edificherà il tempio dell’Eterno, e porterà le insegne della gloria, e si assiderà e dominerà sul suo trono, sarà sacerdote sul suo trono, e vi sarà fra i due un consiglio di pace. 14E le corone saranno per Helem, per Tobia, per Jedaia e per Hen, figliuolo di Sofonia, un ricordo nel tempio dell’Eterno. 15E quelli che son lontani verranno e lavoreranno alla costruzione del tempio dell’Eterno, e voi conoscerete che l’Eterno degli eserciti m’ha mandato a voi. Questo avverrà se date veramente ascolto alla voce dell’Eterno, del vostro Dio".
1Again I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, four chariots came out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass. 2In the first chariot were red horses; in the second chariot black horses; 3in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot dappled horses, all of them powerful. 4Then I asked the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?” 5The angel answered me, “These are the four winds of the sky, which go out from standing before the Lord of all the earth. 6The one with the black horses goes out toward the north country; and the white went out after them; and the dappled went out toward the south country.” 7The strong went out, and sought to go that they might walk back and forth through the earth: and he said, “Go around and through the earth!” So they walked back and forth through the earth. 8Then he called to me, and spoke to me, saying, “Behold, those who go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.” 9Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 10“Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah; and come the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, where they have come from Babylon. 11Yes, take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest; 12and speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says Yahweh of Armies, “Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: and he shall grow up out of his place; and he shall build Yahweh’s temple; 13even he shall build Yahweh’s temple; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule on his throne; and he shall be a priest on his throne; and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. 14The crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in Yahweh’s temple. 15Those who are far off shall come and build in Yahweh’s temple; and you shall know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me to you. This will happen, if you will diligently obey Yahweh your God’s voice.”’”
1En ik hief mijn ogen weder op, en ik zag; en ziet, vier wangens gingen er uit van tussen twee bergen, en die bergen waren bergen van koper. 2Aan den eersten wagen waren rode paarden; en aan den tweeden wagen waren zwarte paarden. 3En aan den derden wagen witte paarden; en aan den vierden wagen hagelvlekkige paarden, die sterk waren. 4En ik antwoordde, en zeide tot den Engel, Die met mij sprak: Wat zijn deze, mijn Heere? 5En de Engel antwoordde, en zeide tot mij: Deze zijn de vier winden des hemels, uitgaande van daar zij stonden voor den Heere der ganse aarde. 6Aan welken wagen de zwarte paarden zijn, die paarden gaan uit naar het Noorderland; en de witte gaan uit, dezelve achterna; en de hagelvlekkige gaan uit naar het Zuiderland. 7En die sterke paarden gingen uit, en zochten voort te gaan, om het land te doorwandelen; want Hij had gezegd: Gaat heen, doorwandelt het land. En zij doorwandelden het land. 8En Hij riep mij, en sprak tot mij, zeggende: Zie, deze, die uitgegaan zijn naar het Noorderland, hebben Mijn Geest doen rusten in het Noorderland. 9En des HEEREN woord geschiedde tot mij, zeggende: 10Neem van de gevankelijk weggevoerden van Cheldai, van Tobia, en van Jedaja, en kom gij te dien dage, en ga in ten huize van Josia, den zoon van Zefanja, dewelke uit Babel gekomen zijn; 11Te weten, neem zilver en goud, en maak kronen; en zet ze op het hoofd van Josua, den zoon van Jozadak, den hogepriester. 12En spreek tot hem, zeggende: Alzo spreekt de HEERE der heirscharen, zeggende: Ziet, een Man, Wiens naam is SPRUITE, Die zal uit Zijn plaats spruiten, en Hij zal des HEEREN tempel bouwen. 13Ja, Hij zal den tempel des HEEREN bouwen, en Hij zal het sieraad dragen, en Hij zal zitten, en heersen op Zijn troon; en Hij zal priester zijn op Zijn troon; en de raad des vredes zal tussen die Beiden wezen. 14En die kronen zullen wezen voor Chelem, en voor Tobia, en voor Jedaja, en voor Chen, den zoon van Zefanja, tot een gedachtenis in den tempel des HEEREN. 15En die verre zijn, zullen komen, en zullen bouwen in den tempel des HEEREN, en gijlieden zult weten, dat de HEERE der heirscharen mij tot u gezonden heeft. Dit zal geschieden, indien gij vlijtiglijk zult horen naar de stem des HEEREN, uws Gods.
