Efesus 6

1Anak-anak, taatilah orang tuamu dalam Tuhan karena ini adalah hal yang benar. 2“Hormatilah ayah dan ibumu,” ini adalah perintah pertama yang disertai dengan janji 3“supaya hidupmu baik dan kamu akan berumur panjang di bumi”. 4Bapak-bapak, janganlah memicu anak-anakmu untuk menjadi marah, tetapi besarkanlah mereka dalam disiplin dan nasihat Tuhan. 5Budak-budak, taatilah tuanmu yang ada di dunia ini dengan hormat dan gentar, dan dengan ketulusan hati seperti untuk Kristus. 6Jangan seperti orang-orang yang mengerjakan pekerjaan hanya untuk dilihat orang — untuk menyenangkan manusia, tetapi sebagai hamba-hamba Kristus yang melakukan kehendak Allah dari hati. 7Melayani dengan sepenuh hati seperti untuk Tuhan dan bukan untuk manusia. 8Sebab, kamu tahu, entah ia budak ataupun orang merdeka, jika ia melakukan hal yang baik, Tuhan akan memberi upah kepadanya. 9Tuan-tuan, lakukanlah juga kepada hamba-hambamu. Berhentilah mengancam karena ketahuilah baik Tuanmu atau Tuan mereka sama-sama ada di surga, dan Ia tidak pilih kasih. 10Akhirnya, jadilah kuat dalam Tuhan dan dalam kuat kuasa-Nya. 11Pakailah seluruh perlengkapan senjata Allah supaya kamu dapat berdiri melawan tipu daya Iblis. 12Sebab, perjuangan kita bukan melawan daging dan darah, tetapi melawan pemerintah-pemerintah, penguasa-penguasa, kekuatan-kekuatan dunia kegelapan ini, dan melawan kekuatan roh dari si jahat yang ada di langit. 13Karena itu, pakailah seluruh perlengkapan senjata Allah supaya kamu dapat tetap bertahan saat hari yang jahat itu datang, dan setelah semuanya selesai kamu tetap berdiri. 14Jadi, berdirilah teguh, dengan mengencangkan ikat pinggang kebenaran di seputar pinggangmu dan pakailah baju zirah keadilan, 15dan pasanglah alas kakimu dengan kesiapan Injil damai sejahtera. 16Dalam segala hal, ambillah perisai iman untuk kamu dapat memadamkan semua panah api dari si jahat. 17Ambillah ketopong keselamatan serta pedang Roh, yaitu firman Allah, 18sambil berdoa setiap waktu dalam Roh dengan semua doa dan permohonan. Dalam doamu itu, berjaga-jagalah dengan segala ketekunan sambil menaikkan semua permohonan bagi semua orang kudus. 19Berdoalah juga untuk aku supaya ketika aku membuka mulutku, perkataan dikaruniakan kepadaku sehingga aku dengan berani memberitakan rahasia Injil. 20Karena Injil itulah, aku menjadi utusan yang terbelenggu. Doakanlah agar aku dapat memberitakannya dengan berani sebagaimana seharusnya aku berbicara. 21Tikhikus, saudara seimanku yang terkasih dan pelayan yang setia dalam Tuhan, akan memberitahukan segala sesuatu kepadamu supaya kamu juga tahu bagaimana keadaanku dan apa yang aku perbuat. 22Aku memang mengutus dia kepadamu untuk tujuan ini, yaitu supaya kamu tahu kabar kami dan supaya ia dapat menghibur hatimu. 23Damai sejahtera bagi saudara-saudara seiman, dan kasih dengan iman dari Allah Bapa dan Tuhan Yesus Kristus. 24Anugerah menyertai semua orang yang mengasihi Tuhan kita, Kristus Yesus, dengan kasih yang tidak akan binasa.

1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2“Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise: 3“that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.” 4You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. 5Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ; 6not in the way of service only when eyes are on you, as men pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; 7with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men; 8knowing that whatever good thing each one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is bound or free. 9You masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with him. 10Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace; 16above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints: 19on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. 21But that you also may know my affairs, how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will make known to you all things; 22whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that you may know our state, and that he may comfort your hearts. 23Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Amen.

1Gij kinderen, zijt uw ouderen gehoorzaam in den Heere; want dat is recht. 2Eert uw vader en moeder (hetwelk het eerste gebod is met een belofte), 3Opdat het u welga, en dat gij lang leeft op de aarde. 4En gij vaders, verwekt uw kinderen niet tot toorn, maar voedt hen op in de lering en vermaning des Heeren. 5Gij dienstknechten, zijt gehoorzaam uw heren naar het vlees, met vreze en beven, in eenvoudigheid uws harten, gelijk als aan Christus; 6Niet naar ogendienst, als mensenbehagers, maar als dienstknechten van Christus, doende den wil van God van harte; 7Dienende met goedwilligheid den Heere, en niet de mensen; 8Wetende, dat zo wat goed een iegelijk gedaan zal hebben, hij datzelve van den Heere zal ontvangen, hetzij dienstknecht, hetzij vrije. 9En gij heren, doet hetzelfde bij hen, nalatende de dreiging; als die weet, dat ook uw eigen Heere in de hemelen is, en dat geen aanneming des persoons bij Hem is. 10Voorts, mijn broeders, wordt krachtig in den Heere, en in de sterkte Zijner macht. 11Doet aan de gehele wapenrusting Gods, opdat gij kunt staan tegen de listige omleidingen des duivels. 12Want wij hebben den strijd niet tegen vlees en bloed, maar tegen de overheden, tegen de machten, tegen de geweldhebbers der wereld, der duisternis dezer eeuw, tegen de geestelijke boosheden in de lucht. 13Daarom neemt aan de gehele wapenrusting Gods, opdat gij kunt wederstaan in den bozen dag, en alles verricht hebbende, staande blijven. 14Staat dan, uw lenden omgord hebbende met de waarheid, en aangedaan hebbende het borstwapen der gerechtigheid; 15En de voeten geschoeid hebbende met bereidheid van het Evangelie des vredes; 16Bovenal aangenomen hebbende het schild des geloofs, met hetwelk gij al de vurige pijlen des bozen zult kunnen uitblussen. 17En neemt den helm der zaligheid, en het zwaard des Geestes, hetwelk is Gods Woord. 18Met alle bidding en smeking, biddende te allen tijd in den Geest, en tot hetzelve wakende met alle gedurigheid en smeking voor al de heiligen; 19En voor mij, opdat mij het Woord gegeven worde in de opening mijns monds met vrijmoedigheid, om de verborgenheid van het Evangelie bekend te maken; 20Waarover ik een gezant ben in een keten, opdat ik in hetzelve vrijmoediglijk moge spreken, gelijk mij betaamt te spreken. 21En opdat ook gij moogt weten hetgeen mij aangaat; en wat ik doe, dat alles zal u Tychikus, de geliefde broeder en getrouwe dienaar in den Heere, bekend maken; 22Denwelken ik tot datzelfde einde tot u gezonden heb, opdat gij onze zaken zoudt weten, en hij uw harten zou vertroosten. 23Vrede zij den broederen, en liefde met geloof, van God den Vader, en den Heere Jezus Christus. 24De genade zij met al degenen, die onzen Heere Jezus Christus liefhebben in onverderfelijkheid. Amen.
