For now, the explanations of passages and books are in Dutch only. The Bible text and the app itself are in your language; translations of the explanations are on their way.

  1. Old TestamentGenesis 2:10

    Een rivier uit Eden

A river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it was parted, and became the source of four rivers.

    What happens here

    How it points ahead

Leven stroomt vanuit Gods nabijheid.

  2. Old TestamentExodus 17:6

    Water uit de rots

Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb. You shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

    What happens here

    How it points ahead

'Die steenrots was Christus', schrijft Paulus (1 Korintiërs 10:4). De geslagen rots geeft leven.

  3. Old TestamentIsaiah 55:1

Gij dorstigen, komt tot de wateren

“Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters! Come, he who has no money, buy, and eat! Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

    What happens here

    How it points ahead

Gods genade is gratis. Jezus roept later bijna met dezelfde woorden.

  4. Old TestamentEzekiel 47:1

    Water onder de tempel vandaan

He brought me back to the door of the house; and behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward; (for the forefront of the house was toward the east;) and the waters came down from under, from the right side of the house, on the south of the altar.

    What happens here

    How it points ahead

  5. And then Jesus comes.

    New TestamentJohn 4:14

    Een fontein die opspringt

but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”

    What happens here

    How it comes together

  6. New TestamentJohn 7:38

    Stromen van levend water

He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water.”

    What happens here

    How it comes together

'Dit zeide Hij van de Geest' (7:39). Ezechiëls tempelbeek stroomt nu uit wie gelooft.

  7. New TestamentRevelation 22:1

De rivier van het water des levens

He showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb,

    What happens here

    How it comes together
