Προς Εφεσίους 6

1Τα τέκνα, υπακούετε εις τους γονείς σας εν Κυρίω· διότι τούτο είναι δίκαιον. 2Τίμα τον πατέρα σου και την μητέρα, ήτις είναι εντολή πρώτη με επαγγελίαν, 3διά να γείνη εις σε καλόν και να ήσαι μακροχρόνιος επί της γης. 4Και οι πατέρες, μη παροργίζετε τα τέκνα σας, αλλ' εκτρέφετε αυτά εν παιδεία Κυρίου. 5Οι δούλοι, υπακούετε εις τους κατά σάρκα κυρίους σας μετά φόβου και τρόμου εν απλότητι της καρδίας σας ως εις τον Χριστόν, 6μη κατ' οφθαλμοδουλείαν ως ανθρωπάρεσκοι, αλλ' ως δούλοι του Χριστού, εκπληρούντες το θέλημα του Θεού εκ ψυχής, 7μετ' ευνοίας δουλεύοντες εις τον Κύριον και ουχί εις ανθρώπους, 8εξεύροντες ότι έκαστος ό,τι καλόν πράξη, τούτο θέλει λάβει παρά του Κυρίου, είτε δούλος είτε ελεύθερος. 9Και οι κύριοι, τα αυτά πράττετε προς αυτούς, αφίνοντες την απειλήν, εξεύροντες ότι και σεις αυτοί έχετε Κύριον εν ουρανοίς, και προσωποληψία δεν υπάρχει παρ' αυτώ. 10Το λοιπόν, αδελφοί μου, ενδυναμούσθε εν Κυρίω και εν τω κράτει της ισχύος αυτού. 11Ενδύθητε την πανοπλίαν του Θεού, διά να δυνηθήτε να σταθήτε εναντίον εις τας μεθοδείας του διαβόλου· 12διότι δεν είναι η πάλη ημών εναντίον εις αίμα και σάρκα, αλλ' εναντίον εις τας αρχάς, εναντίον εις τας εξουσίας, εναντίον εις τους κοσμοκράτορας του σκότους του αιώνος τούτου· εναντίον εις τα πνεύματα της πονηρίας εν τοις επουρανίοις. 13Διά τούτο αναλάβετε την πανοπλίαν του Θεού, διά να δυνηθήτε να αντισταθήτε εν τη ημέρα τη πονηρά και αφού καταπολεμήσητε τα πάντα, να σταθήτε. 14Σταθήτε λοιπόν περιεζωσμένοι την οσφύν σας με αλήθειαν και ενδεδυμένοι τον θώρακα της δικαιοσύνης 15και έχοντες υποδεδημένους τους πόδας με την ετοιμασίαν του ευαγγελίου της ειρήνης· 16επί πάσι δε αναλάβετε την ασπίδα της πίστεως, διά της οποίας θέλετε δυνηθή να σβέσητε πάντα τα βέλη του πονηρού τα πεπυρωμένα· 17και λάβετε την περικεφαλαίαν της σωτηρίας και την μάχαιραν του Πνεύματος, ήτις είναι ο λόγος του Θεού, 18προσευχόμενοι εν παντί καιρώ μετά πάσης προσευχής και δεήσεως διά του Πνεύματος, και εις αυτό τούτο αγρυπνούντες με πάσαν προσκαρτέρησιν και δέησιν υπέρ πάντων των αγίων, 19και υπέρ εμού, διά να δοθή εις εμέ λόγος να ανοίξω το στόμα μου μετά παρρησίας, διά να κάμω γνωστόν το μυστήριον του ευαγγελίου, 20υπέρ του οποίου είμαι πρέσβυς, φορών άλυσιν, διά να λαλήσω περί αυτού μετά παρρησίας καθώς πρέπει να λαλήσω. 21Αλλά διά να εξεύρητε και σεις τα κατ' εμέ, τι κάμνω, τα πάντα θέλει σας φανερώσει ο Τυχικός ο αγαπητός αδελφός και πιστός διάκονος εν Κυρίω, 22τον οποίον έπεμψα προς εσάς δι' αυτό τούτο, διά να μάθητε τα περί ημών και να παρηγορήση τας καρδίας σας. 23Ειρήνη εις τους αδελφούς και αγάπη μετά πίστεως από Θεού Πατρός και Κυρίου Ιησού Χριστού. 24Η χάρις είη μετά πάντων των αγαπώντων τον Κύριον ημών Ιησούν Χριστόν εν καθαρότητι· αμήν.

1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2“Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise: 3“that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.” 4You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. 5Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ; 6not in the way of service only when eyes are on you, as men pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; 7with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men; 8knowing that whatever good thing each one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is bound or free. 9You masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with him. 10Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace; 16above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints: 19on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. 21But that you also may know my affairs, how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will make known to you all things; 22whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that you may know our state, and that he may comfort your hearts. 23Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Amen.

1Gij kinderen, zijt uw ouderen gehoorzaam in den Heere; want dat is recht. 2Eert uw vader en moeder (hetwelk het eerste gebod is met een belofte), 3Opdat het u welga, en dat gij lang leeft op de aarde. 4En gij vaders, verwekt uw kinderen niet tot toorn, maar voedt hen op in de lering en vermaning des Heeren. 5Gij dienstknechten, zijt gehoorzaam uw heren naar het vlees, met vreze en beven, in eenvoudigheid uws harten, gelijk als aan Christus; 6Niet naar ogendienst, als mensenbehagers, maar als dienstknechten van Christus, doende den wil van God van harte; 7Dienende met goedwilligheid den Heere, en niet de mensen; 8Wetende, dat zo wat goed een iegelijk gedaan zal hebben, hij datzelve van den Heere zal ontvangen, hetzij dienstknecht, hetzij vrije. 9En gij heren, doet hetzelfde bij hen, nalatende de dreiging; als die weet, dat ook uw eigen Heere in de hemelen is, en dat geen aanneming des persoons bij Hem is. 10Voorts, mijn broeders, wordt krachtig in den Heere, en in de sterkte Zijner macht. 11Doet aan de gehele wapenrusting Gods, opdat gij kunt staan tegen de listige omleidingen des duivels. 12Want wij hebben den strijd niet tegen vlees en bloed, maar tegen de overheden, tegen de machten, tegen de geweldhebbers der wereld, der duisternis dezer eeuw, tegen de geestelijke boosheden in de lucht. 13Daarom neemt aan de gehele wapenrusting Gods, opdat gij kunt wederstaan in den bozen dag, en alles verricht hebbende, staande blijven. 14Staat dan, uw lenden omgord hebbende met de waarheid, en aangedaan hebbende het borstwapen der gerechtigheid; 15En de voeten geschoeid hebbende met bereidheid van het Evangelie des vredes; 16Bovenal aangenomen hebbende het schild des geloofs, met hetwelk gij al de vurige pijlen des bozen zult kunnen uitblussen. 17En neemt den helm der zaligheid, en het zwaard des Geestes, hetwelk is Gods Woord. 18Met alle bidding en smeking, biddende te allen tijd in den Geest, en tot hetzelve wakende met alle gedurigheid en smeking voor al de heiligen; 19En voor mij, opdat mij het Woord gegeven worde in de opening mijns monds met vrijmoedigheid, om de verborgenheid van het Evangelie bekend te maken; 20Waarover ik een gezant ben in een keten, opdat ik in hetzelve vrijmoediglijk moge spreken, gelijk mij betaamt te spreken. 21En opdat ook gij moogt weten hetgeen mij aangaat; en wat ik doe, dat alles zal u Tychikus, de geliefde broeder en getrouwe dienaar in den Heere, bekend maken; 22Denwelken ik tot datzelfde einde tot u gezonden heb, opdat gij onze zaken zoudt weten, en hij uw harten zou vertroosten. 23Vrede zij den broederen, en liefde met geloof, van God den Vader, en den Heere Jezus Christus. 24De genade zij met al degenen, die onzen Heere Jezus Christus liefhebben in onverderfelijkheid. Amen.
