Malachiáš 4

1Nebo aj, den ten přichází hořící jako pec, v němž budou všickni pyšní, a všickni pášící bezbožnost jako strniště. I zažhne je ten den, kterýž přijíti má, praví Hospodin zástupů, tak že neostaví jim ani kořene ani ratolesti. 2Vám pak, kteříž se bojíte jména mého, vzejde slunce spravedlnosti, a zdraví bude na paprslcích jeho. Tedy vycházeti budete, a porostete jako telata vykrmená. 3A pošlapáte bezbožné, tak že budou jako popel pod nohami vašimi v den, kterýž já učiním, praví Hospodin zástupů. 4Pamatujtež na zákon Mojžíše služebníka mého, jemuž jsem přikázal na Orébě přednesti všemu Izraeli ustanovení a soudy. 5Aj, já pošli vám Eliáše proroka, prvé nežli přijde den Hospodinův veliký a hrozný, 6Aby obrátil srdce otců k synům, a srdce synů k otcům jejich, abych přijda, neranil země prokletím.

1“For, behold, the day comes, it burns as a furnace; and all the proud, and all who work wickedness, will be stubble; and the day that comes will burn them up,” says Yahweh of Armies, “that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings. You will go out, and leap like calves of the stall. 3You shall tread down the wicked; for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I make,” says Yahweh of Armies. 4“Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances. 5Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes. 6He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

1Want ziet, die dag komt, brandende als een oven, dan zullen alle hoogmoedigen, en al wie goddeloosheid doet, een stoppel zijn, en de toekomstige dag zal ze in brand zetten, zegt de HEERE der heirscharen, Die hun noch wortel, noch tak laten zal. 2Ulieden daarentegen, die Mijn Naam vreest, zal de Zon der gerechtigheid opgaan, en er zal genezing zijn onder Zijn vleugelen; en gij zult uitgaan, en toenemen, als mestkalveren. 3En gij zult de goddelozen vertreden; want zij zullen as worden onder de zolen uwer voeten, te dien dage, dien Ik maken zal, zegt de HEERE der heirscharen. 4Gedenk der wet van Mozes, Mijn knecht, die Ik hen bevolen heb op Horeb aan gans Israel, der inzettingen en rechten. 5Ziet, Ik zende ulieden den profeet Elia, eer dat die grote en die vreselijke dag des HEEREN komen zal. 6En hij zal het hart der vaderen tot de kinderen wederbrengen, en het hart der kinderen tot hun vaderen; opdat Ik niet kome, en de aarde met den ban sla.
