1I stalo se, když bydlil David v domě svém, že řekl Nátanovi proroku: Aj, já přebývám v domě cedrovém, truhla pak smlouvy Hospodinovy jest pod kortýnami. 2I řekl Nátan Davidovi: Cožkoli jest v srdci tvém, učiň; nebo Bůh s tebou jest. 3Potom té noci stalo se slovo Boží k Nátanovi, řkoucí: 4Jdi a rci Davidovi služebníku mému: Toto dí Hospodin: Ne ty stavěti mi budeš dům k bydlení, 5Poněvadž jsem nebydlil v žádném domě od toho dne, jakž jsem vyvedl syny Izraelské, až do dne tohoto, ale procházel jsem se z stánku do stánku, také i vně kromě příbytku. 6Nadto kudyž jsem koli chodil se vším Izraelem, zdali jsem slovo řekl kterému z soudců Izraelských, (jimž jsem přikázal, aby pásli lid můj), řka: Proč jste mi neustavěli domu cedrového? 7Protož nyní toto díš služebníku mému Davidovi: Takto praví Hospodin zástupů: Já jsem tě vzal z ovčince, když jsi chodil za stádem, abys byl vývodou lidu mého Izraelského. 8A býval jsem s tebou všudy, kamž jsi koli se obrátil, všecky také nepřátely tvé vyhladil jsem před tváří tvou, a učinilť jsem jméno veliké, jako jméno vznešených na zemi. 9Ano i lidu svému Izraelskému způsobil jsem místo, a vštípil jej tu. I bude bydliti na místě svém, a nepohne se více, aniž na něj dotírati budou lidé nešlechetní, jako prvé, 10Hned od toho času, jakž jsem ustanovil soudce nad lidem svým Izraelským, až jsem ponížil všech nepřátel tvých; nýbrž oznamujiť, že Hospodin sám vystaví tobě dům. 11Nebo když se vyplní dnové tvoji, abys šel za otci svými, vzbudím símě tvé po tobě, kteréž bude z synů tvých, a utvrdím království jeho. 12Onť mi ustaví dům, a já utvrdím trůn jeho až na věky. 13Já budu jemu otcem, a on mi bude synem, a milosrdenství svého neodejmu od něho, jako jsem je odjal od toho, kterýž byl před tebou. 14Ale postavím jej v domě svém a v království svém až na věky, a trůn jeho bude nepohnutelný až na věky. 15Podlé všech slov těchto, a podlé všeho vidění tohoto, tak mluvil Nátan Davidovi. 16Tedy všed král David, posadil se před Hospodinem, a řekl: Kdož jsem já, ó Hospodine Bože, a jaký jest dům můj, že jsi mne tak zvýšil? 17Anobrž i to jsi za málo u sebe položil, ó Bože, pročež jsi zamluvil se o domu služebníka svého i na dlouhé časy, a popatřil jsi na mne, jako na osobu člověka vzácného, Hospodine Bože. 18Což ještě více mluviti má David před tebou o zvelebení služebníka tvého? Ty zajisté znáš služebníka svého. 19Hospodine, pro služebníka svého a podlé srdce svého činíš velikou věc tuto, abys v známost uvedl všecky převeliké věci. 20Hospodine, neníť tobě rovného, anobrž není žádného Boha kromě tebe, podlé toho všeho, jakž jsme slýchali ušima svýma. 21Nebo kde jest který národ na zemi, jako lid tvůj Izraelský, jehož by Bůh šel, aby vykoupil sobě lid a dobyl sobě jména, čině veliké a hrozné věci, vyháněje před tváří lidu svého, kterýž jsi vykoupil z Egypta, pohany? 22Zvolil jsi zajisté lid svůj Izraelský sobě za lid až na věky, a ty, Hospodine, sám jsi jejich Bohem. 23Nyní tedy, Hospodine, slovo to, jímž jsi zamluvil se služebníku svému a domu jeho, budiž jisté až na věky, a učiň tak, jakž jsi mluvil. 24Budiž, pravím, jisté, tak aby velebeno bylo jméno tvé až na věky, a říkáno: Hospodin zástupů, Bůh Izraelský, jest Bůh nad Izraelem, a dům Davida služebníka tvého ať jest nepohnutelný před oblíčejem tvým. 25Nebo ty, Bože můj, zjevil jsi služebníku svému, že mu ustavíš dům, a protož směl služebník tvůj modliti se před tebou. 26A tak, ó Hospodine, ty jsi sám Bůh, a mluvil jsi o služebníku svém dobré věci tyto. 27Nyní tedy ráčil jsi požehnati domu služebníka svého, aby trval na věky před oblíčejem tvým; nebo jsi ty, Hospodine, požehnal, i budeť požehnaný na věky.
1When David lived in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet, “Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of Yahweh is under curtains.” 2Nathan said to David, “Do all that is in your heart; for God is with you.” 3That same night, the word of God came to Nathan, saying, 4“Go and tell David my servant, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “You shall not build me a house to dwell in; 5for I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought up Israel, to this day, but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tent to another. 6In all places in which I have walked with all Israel, did I speak a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people, saying, ‘Why have you not built me a house of cedar?’”’ 7“Now therefore, you shall tell my servant David, ‘Thus says Yahweh of Armies, “I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people Israel. 8I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a name, like the name of the great ones who are in the earth. 9I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the first, 10and from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel; and I will subdue all your enemies. Moreover I tell you that Yahweh will build you a house. 11It shall happen, when your days are fulfilled that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your seed after you, who shall be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. 12He shall build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. 13I will be his father, and he shall be my son. I will not take my loving kindness away from him, as I took it from him that was before you; 14but I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom forever. His throne shall be established forever.”’” 15According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David. 16Then David the king went in, and sat before Yahweh; and he said, “Who am I, Yahweh God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far? 17This was a small thing in your eyes, God; but you have spoken of your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have respected me according to the estate of a man of high degree, Yahweh God. 18What can David say yet more to you concerning the honor which is done to your servant? For you know your servant. 19Yahweh, for your servant’s sake, and according to your own heart, you have worked all this greatness, to make known all these great things. 20Yahweh, there is no one like you, neither is there any God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears. 21What one nation in the earth is like your people Israel, whom God went to redeem to himself for a people, to make you a name by great and awesome things, in driving out nations from before your people, whom you redeem out of Egypt? 22For your people Israel you made your own people forever; and you, Yahweh, became their God. 23Now, Yahweh, let the word that you have spoken concerning your servant, and concerning his house, be established forever, and do as you have spoken. 24Let your name be established and magnified forever, saying, ‘Yahweh of Armies is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel. The house of David your servant is established before you.’ 25For you, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build him a house. Therefore your servant has found courage to pray before you. 26Now, Yahweh, you are God, and have promised this good thing to your servant. 27Now it has pleased you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever before you; for you, Yahweh, have blessed, and it is blessed forever.”
1Het geschiedde nu, als David in zijn huis woonde, dat David tot Nathan, den profeet, zeide: Zie, ik woon in een cederen huis, maar de ark des verbonds des HEEREN onder gordijnen. 2Toen zeide Nathan tot David: Doe alles, wat in uw hart is, want God is met u. 3Maar het geschiedde in denzelven nacht, dat het woord Gods tot Nathan kwam, zeggende: 4Ga heen en zeg tot David, Mijn knecht: Alzo zegt de HEERE: Gij zult Mij geen huis bouwen, om in te wonen. 5Want Ik heb in geen huis gewoond van dien dag af, dat Ik Israel heb opgevoerd tot dezen dag toe; maar Ik ben gegaan van tent tot tent, en van tabernakel tot tabernakel. 6Overal, waar Ik gewandeld heb met geheel Israel, heb Ik wel een woord gesproken tot een van de richters van Israel, denwelken Ik gebood Mijn volk te weiden, zeggende: Waarom bouwt gijlieden Mij geen cederen huis? 7Nu dan, alzo zult gij zeggen tot Mijn knecht, tot David: Zo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen: Ik heb u van de schaapskooi genomen, van achter de schapen, opdat gij een voorganger over Mijn volk Israel zoudt zijn; 8En Ik ben met u geweest overal, waar gij heengegaan zijt, en Ik heb al uw vijanden uitgeroeid van voor uw aangezicht; en Ik heb u een naam gemaakt, gelijk de naam is der groten, die op de aarde zijn. 9En Ik heb voor Mijn volk Israel een plaats besteld, en hem geplant, dat hij aan zijn plaats wone, en niet meer heen en weder gedreven worde; en de kinderen der verkeerdheid zullen hem niet meer krenken, gelijk als in het eerst. 10En van die dagen af, dat Ik geboden heb richters te wezen over Mijn volk Israel; en heb al uw vijanden vernederd; ook heb Ik u te kennen gegeven, dat u de HEERE een huis bouwen zal. 11En het zal geschieden, als uw dagen zullen vervuld zijn, dat gij heengaat tot uw vaderen, zo zal Ik uw zaad na u doen opstaan, hetwelk uit uw zonen zijn zal, en Ik zal zijn koninkrijk bevestigen. 12Die zal Mij een huis bouwen, en Ik zal zijn stoel bevestigen tot in der eeuwigheid. 13Ik zal hem tot een Vader zijn, en hij zal Mij tot een zoon zijn; en Mijn goedertierenheid zal Ik van hem niet wenden, gelijk als Ik die weggenomen heb van dien, die voor u geweest is; 14Maar Ik zal hem in Mijn huis bestendig maken, en in Mijn Koninkrijk tot in eeuwigheid; en zijn stoel zal vast zijn tot in eeuwigheid. 15Naar al deze woorden, en naar dit ganse gezicht, alzo sprak Nathan tot David. 16Toen kwam de koning David in, en bleef voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, en hij zeide: Wie ben ik, HEERE God, en wat is mijn huis, dat Gij mij tot hiertoe gebracht hebt? 17En dit is klein in Uw ogen geweest, o God! daarom hebt Gij van het huis Uws knechts tot van verre heen gesproken, en Gij hebt mij naar menselijke wijze voorzien met deze verhoging, o HEERE God! 18Wat zal David meer bij U daartoe voegen, vanwege de eer aan Uw knecht? Doch Gij kent Uw knecht wel. 19HEERE, om Uws knechts wil, en naar Uw hart, hebt Gij al dezen grote dingen gedaan, om al deze grote dingen bekend te maken. 20HEERE, er is niemand gelijk Gij, en er is geen God behalve Gij, naar alles, wat wij met onze oren gehoord hebben. 21En wie is als Uw volk Israel, een enig volk op de aarde, hetwelk God heengegaan is Zich tot een volk te verlossen, dat Gij U een Naam maaktet van grote en verschrikkelijke dingen, met de heidenen uit te stoten van het aangezicht Uws volks, hetwelk Gij uit Egypte verlost hebt? 22En Gij hebt Uw volk Israel U ten volk gemaakt tot in der eeuwigheid; en Gij, HEERE, zijt hun tot een God geworden. 23Nu dan, HEERE, het woord, dat Gij over Uw knecht gesproken hebt, en over zijn huis, dat worde waar tot in eeuwigheid; en doe, gelijk als Gij gesproken hebt. 24Ja, het worde waar, en Uw Naam worde groot gemaakt tot in eeuwigheid, dat men zegge: De HEERE der heirscharen, de God van Israel, is Israels God; en het huis van David, Uw knecht, zij bestendig voor Uw aangezicht. 25Want Gij, mijn God, hebt voor het oor Uws knechts geopenbaard, dat Gij hem een huis bouwen zoudt; daarom heeft Uw knecht in zijn hart gevonden, om voor Uw aangezicht te bidden. 26Nu dan, HEERE, Gij zijt die God; en Gij hebt dit goede over Uw knecht gesproken. 27Nu dan, het heeft U beliefd te zegenen het huis Uws knechts, dat het in eeuwigheid voor Uw aangezicht zij; want Gij, HEERE, hebt het gezegend, en het zal gezegend zijn in eeuwigheid.
