1Stalo se pak, když dokonal Šalomoun stavení domu Hospodinova a domu královského, podlé vší líbosti své, jakž vykonati umínil, 2Že se ukázal Hospodin Šalomounovi podruhé, jakož se mu byl ukázal v Gabaon. 3I řekl jemu Hospodin: Vyslyšelť jsem modlitbu tvou a prosbu tvou, kteroužs se modlil přede mnou; posvětil jsem domu toho, kterýž jsi vystavěl, aby přebývalo tam jméno mé až na věky, a byly tu oči mé i srdce mé po všecky dny. 4A ty jestliže choditi budeš přede mnou, jako chodil David otec tvůj, v dokonalosti srdce a v upřímnosti, čině všecko to, což jsem přikázal tobě, ustanovení mých i soudů mých ostříhaje: 5Utvrdím zajisté stolici království tvého nad Izraelem na věky, jakož jsem mluvil Davidovi otci tvému, řka: Nebudeť odjat muž z rodu tvého od trůnu Izraelského. 6Pakli se nazpět odvrátíte vy i synové vaši ode mne, a nebudete ostříhati přikázaní mých a ustanovení mých, kteráž jsem vydal vám, ale odejdouce, sloužiti budete bohům cizím a klaněti se jim: 7Vypléním docela Izraele se svrchku země, kterouž jsem jim dal, a dům tento, kteréhož jsem posvětil jménu svému, zavrhu od tváři své, i budeť Izrael za přísloví a za rozprávku mezi všemi národy. 8Ano i dům tento, jakkoli bude slavný, kdokoli mimo něj půjde, užasne se a ckáti bude, i řekne: Proč tak učinil Hospodin zemi této a domu tomuto? 9Tedy odpovědí: Proto že opustili Hospodina Boha svého, kterýž vyvedl otce jejich z země Egyptské, a chytili se bohů cizích, a klaněli se jim i sloužili jim, protož uvedl na ně Hospodin všecky tyto zlé věci. 10Stalo se také po přeběhnutí dvadcíti let, v nichž vzdělal Šalomoun oba dva ty domy, dům Hospodinův a dům královský, 11K čemuž byl Chíram král Tyrský daroval Šalomounovi hojně dříví cedrového a jedlového, i zlata vedlé vší vůle jeho, že dal také král Šalomoun Chíramovi dvadceti měst v zemi Galilejské. 12I vyjel Chíram z Týru, aby viděl ta města, kteráž mu daroval Šalomoun, ale nelíbila se jemu. 13Protož řekl: Jakáž jsou ta města, kteráž mi dáváš, bratře můj? I nazval je zemí Kabul až do tohoto dne. 14Nebo byl poslal Chíram králi sto a dvadceti centnéřů zlata. 15Příčina pak platu, kterýž byl uložil král Šalomoun, byla, aby stavěl dům Hospodinův a dům svůj, a Mello i zdi Jeruzalémské, též Azor a Mageddo i Gázer. 16(Farao zajisté král Egyptský vytáh, dobyl Gázeru a vypálil je, Kananejské pak, kteříž byli v tom městě, pobil a dal město za věno dceři své, manželce Šalomounově.) 17A tak vystavěl zase Šalomoun Gázer a Betoron dolní, 18Též Baalat a Tadmor na poušti v též zemi, 19I všecka města, v nichž Šalomoun měl své sklady, i města vozů, i města jezdců, vše vedlé žádosti své, cožkoli chtěl stavěti v Jeruzalémě, a na Libánu i po vší zemi panování svého. 20Všecken také lid, kterýž byl pozůstal z Amorejských, Hetejských, Ferezejských, Hevejských a Jebuzejských, kteříž nebyli z synů Izraelských, 21Totiž syny jejich, kteříž byli pozůstali po nich v zemi, jichž nemohli synové Izraelští vyhladiti, uvedl Šalomoun pod plat a v službu až do tohoto dne. 22Z synů pak Izraelských žádného nepodrobil v službu Šalomoun, ale byli muži váleční, a služebníci jeho, a knížata jeho, vůdcové jeho a úředníci nad vozy a jezdci jeho. 23Bylo těch předních vládařů, kteříž byli nad dílem Šalomounovým, pět set a padesát. Ti spravovali lidi, kteříž dělali. 24Dcera pak Faraonova přestěhovala se z města Davidova do domu svého, kterýž jí byl vystavěl Šalomoun. Tehdáž také vystavěl Mello. 25I obětoval Šalomoun každého roku třikrát oběti zápalné a pokojné na oltáři, kterýž byl vzdělal Hospodinu, ale kadíval na tom, kterýž byl před Hospodinem, když dokonal dům. 26Nadělal také král Šalomoun lodí velikých v Aziongaber, kteréž jest podlé Elat, na břehu moře Rudého v zemi Idumejské. 27A poslal Chíram na těch lodech služebníky své, plavce umělé na moři, s služebníky Šalomounovými. 28Kteříž přeplavivše se do Ofir, nabrali tam zlata čtyři sta a dvadceti centnéřů, a přivezli králi Šalomounovi.
1When Solomon had finished the building of Yahweh’s house, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do, 2Yahweh appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon. 3Yahweh said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your supplication, that you have made before me. I have made this house holy, which you have built, to put my name there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually. 4As for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances; 5then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, according as I promised to David your father, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man on the throne of Israel.’ 6But if you turn away from following me, you or your children, and not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; 7then I will cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all peoples. 8Though this house is so high, yet shall everyone who passes by it be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, ‘Why has Yahweh done thus to this land, and to this house?’ 9and they shall answer, ‘Because they abandoned Yahweh their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold of other gods, and worshiped them, and served them. Therefore Yahweh has brought all this evil on them.’” 10At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, Yahweh’s house and the king’s house 11(now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire), King Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee. 12Hiram came out of Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they didn’t please him. 13He said, “What cities are these which you have given me, my brother?” He called them the land of Cabul to this day. 14Hiram sent to the king one hundred twenty talents of gold. 15This is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised, to build Yahweh’s house, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer. 16Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites who lived in the city, and given it for a portion to his daughter, Solomon’s wife. 17Solomon built Gezer, and Beth Horon the lower, 18and Baalath, and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land, 19and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion. 20As for all the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the children of Israel; 21their children who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel were not able utterly to destroy, of them Solomon raised a levy of bondservants to this day. 22But of the children of Israel Solomon made no bondservants; but they were the men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen. 23These were the chief officers who were over Solomon’s work, five hundred fifty, who bore rule over the people who labored in the work. 24But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of David to her house which Solomon had built for her: then he built Millo. 25Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar which he built to Yahweh three times a year, burning incense with them, on the altar that was before Yahweh. So he finished the house. 26King Solomon made a navy of ships in Ezion Geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom. 27Hiram sent in the navy his servants, sailors who had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon. 28They came to Ophir, and fetched from there gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.
1Het geschiedde nu, als Salomo voleind had te bouwen het huis des HEEREN en het huis des konings, en al de begeerten van Salomo, die hem gelust had te maken; 2Dat de HEERE ten anderen male aan Salomo verscheen, gelijk als Hij hem in Gibeon verschenen was. 3En de HEERE zeide tot hem: Ik heb uw gebed en uw smeking gehoord, die gij voor Mijn aangezicht smekende gedaan hebt; Ik heb dat huis geheiligd, hetwelk gij gebouwd hebt, opdat Ik Mijn Naam aldaar tot in eeuwigheid zette; en Mijn ogen en Mijn hart zullen daar zijn te allen dage. 4En zo gij voor Mijn aangezicht wandelen zult, gelijk als uw vader David gewandeld heeft, met volkomenheid des harten, en met oprechtheid, om te doen naar al wat Ik u geboden heb, en Mijn inzettingen en Mijn rechten houden zult; 5Zo zal Ik den troon uws koninkrijks over Israel bevestigen in eeuwigheid; gelijk als Ik gesproken heb over uw vader David, zeggende: Geen man zal u afgesneden worden van den troon van Israel. 6Maar zo gijlieden u te enen male afkeren zult, gij en uw kinderen, van Mij na te volgen, en niet houden zult Mijn geboden en Mijn inzettingen, die Ik voor uw aangezicht gegeven heb; maar heengaan, en andere goden dienen, en u voor dezelve nederbuigen zult; 7Zo zal Ik Israel uitroeien van het land, dat Ik hun gegeven heb, en dit huis, hetwelk Ik Mijn Naam geheiligd heb, zal Ik van Mijn aangezicht wegwerpen; en Israel zal tot een spreekwoord en spotrede zijn onder alle volken. 8En aangaande dit huis, dat verheven zal geweest zijn, al wie voor hetzelve zal voorbijgaan, zal zich ontzetten en fluiten; men zal zeggen: Waarom heeft de HEERE alzo gedaan aan dit land en aan dit huis? 9En men zal zeggen: Omdat zij den HEERE, hun God, verlaten hebben, Die hun vaderen uit Egypteland uitgevoerd had, en hebben zich aan andere goden gehouden, en zich voor dezelve nedergebogen, en hen gediend; daarom heeft de HEERE al dit kwaad over hen gebracht. 10En het geschiedde ten einde van twintig jaren, in dewelke Salomo die twee huizen gebouwd had, het huis des HEEREN en het huis des konings; 11(Waartoe Hiram, de koning van Tyrus, Salomo van cederbomen, en van dennenbomen, en van goud, naar al zijn lust opgebracht had), dat alstoen de koning Salomo aan Hiram twintig steden gaf in het land van Galilea. 12En Hiram toog uit van Tyrus, om de steden te bezien, die Salomo hem gegeven had, maar zij waren niet recht in zijn ogen. 13Daarom zeide hij: Wat zijn dat voor steden, mijn broeder, die gij mij gegeven hebt? En hij noemde ze het land Kabul, tot op dezen dag. 14En Hiram had den koning gezonden honderd en twintig talenten gouds. 15Dit is nu de oorzaak van het uitschot, dat de koning Salomo deed opkomen, om het huis des HEEREN te bouwen, en zijn huis, en Millo, en den muur van Jeruzalem, mitsgaders Hazor, en Megiddo, en Gezer. 16Want Farao, de koning van Egypte, was opgekomen, en had Gezer ingenomen, en haar met vuur verbrand, en de Kanaanieten, die in de stad woonden, gedood, en had haar aan zijn dochter, de huisvrouw van Salomo, tot een geschenk gegeven. 17Alzo bouwde Salomo Gezer, en het lage Beth-horon. 18En Baalath, en Tamor in de woestijn, in dat land; 19En al de schatsteden, die Salomo had, en de wagensteden, en de steden der ruiteren, en wat de begeerte van Salomo begeerde te bouwen, in Jeruzalem, en op den Libanon, en in het ganse land zijner heerschappij. 20Aangaande al het volk, dat overgebleven was van de Amorieten, Hethieten, Ferezieten, Hevieten, en Jebusieten, die niet waren van de kinderen Israels; 21Hun kinderen, die na hen in het land overgebleven waren, die de kinderen Israels niet hadden kunnen verbannen, die heeft Salomo gebracht op slaafsen uitschot tot op dezen dag. 22Doch van de kinderen Israels maakte Salomo geen slaaf; maar zij waren krijgslieden, en zijn knechten, en zijn vorsten, en zijn hoofdlieden, en de oversten zijner wagenen, en zijner ruiteren. 23Dezen waren de oversten der bestelden, die over het werk van Salomo waren, vijfhonderd en vijftig, die heerschappij hadden over het volk, dat in het werk doende was. 24Doch de dochter van Farao toog van de stad Davids op tot haar huis, hetwelk hij voor haar gebouwd had; toen bouwde hij Millo. 25En Salomo offerde driemaal des jaars brandofferen en dankofferen, op het altaar, dat hij den HEERE gebouwd had, en rookte op dat, hetwelk voor het aangezicht des HEEREN was, als hij het huis volmaakt had. 26De koning Salomo maakte ook schepen te Ezeon-Geber, dat bij Eloth is, aan den oever der Schelfzee, in het land van Edom. 27En Hiram zond met die schepen zijn knechten, scheepslieden, kenners van de zee, met de knechten van Salomo. 28En zij kwamen te Ofir, en haalden van daar aan goud, vierhonderd en twintig talenten, en brachten het tot den koning Salomo.
